Autumn Term Information

Welcome Back!

I hope you have all had a lovely summer and are as excited as enthusiastic about the new school year as I am.

I’d like to inform you that I will be taking two weeks’ paternity leave from tomorrow, Tuesday 6th September. Baby Teddy Gray McPartlin was born on the 10th August weighing in at 7lbs 3ozs and both mum and baby are doing well; forgive me if I look like a zombie, as expected, we’re not getting so much sleep but it’s definitely all worth it! School will be left in the more than capable hands of Mr. Babcock and Mr Sumner who will be available if you need them.

As we start this new school year, I would like to encourage as many parents as possible to get involved and come in to school, evidence shows that children thrive and have the best chance of fulfilling their full potential when home school links are strong. We will be holding a number of events, sessions and activities for parents to attend and would love to see as many of you in school as possible. I’ve been overwhelmed by the friendliness, support and enthusiasm of families so far, long may it continue!

This year (and forever more!) we will be focussing even more than usual on positive attitudes and helping the children to believe that they can do anything that they want and dream big, please help us by reinforcing this message at home. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that all children receive the help and support they need to leave school at the end of year 6 with happy memories, high self-esteem, confident for their future and at the expected academic standard for their age. This won’t be easy, but we think we can do it and hope that you will support us in encouraging positive attitudes to learning and school.

All the very best for the new school year, these are exciting times for the school and our children, let’s continue to work together to give them the best possible start in life.

Yours faithfully,

Dave McPartlin

Half Term
School closes at the normal time on Friday 28th October
and Reopens at 8.45am on Monday 7th November

Class Assembly Dates

Each half term, one class from years 1-6 will lead an assembly, after the assembly all parents will be invited back to the classroom, for up to an hour, so the children can share their learning with you.
We think that the children will be proud to show you what they are capable of achieving and it will give parents the opportunity to find out more about how the children learn in school using some of the amazing resources and technology available for them use.
