Summer Term Information

Headteacher Message.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made my first term at Flakefleet so enjoyable, it is safe to say my experience so far has exceeded all expectations. I have been taken back by the warmth, kindness and generosity of our families and look forward to continuing to further strengthen home-school links over the coming months and years. I would like to say a big thank you to our incredibly hard working and dedicated staff who, already, I know we can count on to always go the extra mile for our children. There are so many exciting things that go on in our school that I am grateful to our fab staff for organising, not only is it important for our children to leave with high levels of numeracy and literacy but they should also feel safe and cared in school as well as leave school with happy memories; even in the short time I have been here, I know this to be the case and that we have a school to be proud of. I wish you all a happy and fun summer holidays and look forward to seeing you all again in September.

Mr McPartlin

On Friday 8th July our festival took place on the school field.

Parents and friends were invited to come along to enjoy a picnic lunch with the children before the afternoons entertainment commenced. The Flakefest festival marked the end of MADD week. A week full of music, art, drama and dance activities in which every child in school took part. Art work produced by the children during MADD week was displayed in the dance studio for parents to enjoy.

The afternoon's entertainment kicked off with a Ukulele performance from Year 5. All children had the opportunity to take part in performances throughout the afternoon. Parents were entertained with a HAKKA, singing, diversity style dancing, samba drumming, guitarists, cup song  and not forgetting, the whole school's flash mob.The entertainment continued after school, with a live band, stalls and a BBQ!

Each week, one class from years 1-6 will lead an assembly, after the assembly all parents will be invited back to the classroom, for up to an hour, so the children can share their learning with you.
We think that the children will be proud to show you what they are capable of achieving and it will give parents the opportunity to find out more about how the children learn in school using some of the amazing resources and technology available for them use.
