Consultation on the proposal to extend the age range at Flakefleet Primary School with new Nursery Provision from 2 years old

Flakefleet Primary School would like to extend our maintained* nursery provision at the school. In order to extend a nursery age range it is necessary for the school to publish a formal proposal to change the age range for which the school can cater from 3-11 to 2-11 years.

* Maintained Nursery settings are based on school sites. They offer teacher- supported learning through play, based around the Foundation Stage Curriculum for 2, 3 and 4 year olds prior to their entry into school. Open during term-time only.

1. The purpose of this consultation document

The purpose of this document is to provide information relating to the proposal to enable the wider community to make an informed response.
2. Background
The Governing Body of Flakefleet Primary School is aware of the limited availability of free pre-school nursery provision (to qualifying parents) in Fleetwood and the fact that parents would like such provision at school.

3. The Proposal

To change the age range of Flakefleet Primary School from 3-11 to 2-11 years old from 1st September 2017.

School Uniform

School Uniform

Please could we politely remind parents of our uniform policy which is: blue jumper/cardigan, white polo shirt and grey trousers/skirt/pinafore. We have had a lot of children coming in trainers recently. Don’t forget that pupils must wear black, suitable shoes without heels (no heels for boys too!) I have also noticed a number of children wearing large bows in their hair (just the girls) and have been asked by some parents whether they are allowed...I’m afraid they’re not. If in doubt or you have any questions or would just like us to know that you’re having issues with uniform - please just let us know.
